Celebrate International Women's Day 2013 in Ottawa!
Here are the details for the International Women's day event in Ottawa hosted by Amnesty International Canada, Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, Canadian Federation of University Women, Inter Pares, MATCH International, Nobel Women’s Initiative, Ottawa Coalition to End Violence Against Women, Oxfam Canada, Planned Parenthood Ottawa, Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund, and World University Services of
Canada:
Join us on March 8, 2013 for this year’s International Women’s Day celebration at the National Library and Archives. Come enjoy the live entertainment, DJ, food and beverages as we celebrate the achievements of women in our community, across Canada, and around the world. As always, the event will be free (expect for cash bar) and we will have child care available on site!
This year the event’s theme will be a feminist play on COMIC-CON (the infamous comic book conventions held across North America). FEMICON, as we’re calling it, is dedicated to creating awareness of, and appreciation for, the extraordinary feminist superheroes that have made a historic and ongoing contribution to women’s equality.
