연아마틴 상원의원님 인사말

오타와 코윈 총회에 참가하시는 모든 분들께 진심어린 인사의 말을 전할 수 있어 기쁩니다.

이번 행사는 코윈이 우리 사회 안의 역할을 되새김해 볼 수 있는 좋은 기회입니다. 코윈은 한국계 여성 사이에 연대와 교류를 강화함으로써 우리 사회 내에서뿐만 아니라 전국적인 그리고 더 나아가 세계적인 여성 지도자를 육성해 왔습니다. 이러한 리더십은 분명 한국-캐나다 양국 관계의 새로운 시대에 중요한 디딤돌이 될 것이라 믿습니다.

마지막으로 여성들의 연대와 국제적인 협력 그리고 여성 권리를 촉진하기 위해 끊임없이 노력하시는 한경희 회장님과 코윈 오타와 관계자분들께 노고의 박수를 보냅니다.

상원을 대표해 이번 행사가 많은 결실을 남기길 그리고 다복한 을미년이 되시길 기원합니다.

Greetings from The Honourable Yonah Martin

I am delighted to extend my sincere greetings to all participants at the Korean Women’s International Network (KOWIN) Ottawa Chapter Annual General Meeting.

Today’s event is an excellent way to reflect on the important role KOWIN plays in our community. By reinforcing solidarity and exchange amongst women of Korean descent, KOWIN fosters outstanding female leaders locally, nationally and internationally. This type of leadership will undoubtedly be a key stepping stone in the new era of Canada-Korea relations.

I commend the leadership and commitment of President Han, and the dedication of Ottawa KOWIN's executives and volunteers for their tireless effort to promote solidarity, international cooperation and empowerment of women.

On behalf of the Senate of Canada, best wishes for a fruitful gathering and a prosperous Year of the Sheep.
