오늘 (9월 28일)은 캐나다와 한국에 있어서 중요한 날입니다: 제3회 (캐나다) 북한 인권의 날이며 서울 수복 65주년 입니다. 잠시 멈추어 한국전쟁시 수고하고 자신의 삶을 희생하신 모든 분들을 기념하기 원합니다.

Hon Jason Kenney issues statement on Human Rights in North Korea Day

Ottawa, September 28, 2015 – The Honourable Jason Kenney issued the following statement to recognize Human Rights in North Korea Day:

“I am proud to commemorate September 28 as a day of recognition for those denied human rights in North Korea.

“Since the Korean War more than 60 years ago, North Koreans have suffered under a totalitarian regime that brutally suppresses fundamental human rights and freedoms. Three generations later, the people of North Korea continue to suffer under the cruel and repressive regime of the Kim dynasty.

“Prime Minister Harper has been clear and unequivocal in standing with the Republic of Korea and condemning North Korea for their atrocious human rights record and belligerent actions at the United Nations. We have regularly raised our strong concerns regarding the human rights situation in North Korea in international fora, urging international pressure on Pyongyang to abide by international human rights standards. We proudly co-sponsored the United Nations Security Council’s resolution to further expand sanctions against North Korea in 2013.

“On this third anniversary of the Human Rights in North Korea Day, I join with Canada’s Korean community and human rights organizations in strongly condemning North Korea’s unconscionable treatment of its citizens and in urging Pyongyang to live up to its international obligations. Until the people of North Korea can live in dignity and freedom, a re-elected Conservative Government will continue to speak out against North Korea’s tyrannical regime.”

오타와, 2015년 9월 28일 – Jason Kenney 장관은 오늘 북한 인권의 날을 맞이하여 아래 성명서를 발표했다:
 
“저는 9월 28일을 북한에서 그들의 인권을 묵살당한 분들을 기억하는 날로 기념할 수 있어 자랑스럽습니다.
 
“60여년 전의 한국전쟁 후, 북한 사람들은 기본 인권과 자유를 잔인하게 억압하는 전체주의 정권 하에서 고통 받아왔습니다. 3 세대 후, 북한 사람들은 계속하여 김씨 일가의 잔인하고 억압적인 정권 아래에 고통받고 있습니다.
 
“스티븐 하퍼 수상님은 대한민국이 북한의 인권 탄압과 UN에서의 적대적인 태도를 비난하는 것에 분명하고 확고한 지지를 표명해왔습니다. 우리는 평양이 국제 인권 기준을 준수하는 것을 촉구하도록 국제 사회의 압력을 가하기 위해 여러 국제 포럼에서 북한의 인권 문제에 대한 우리의 강한 우려를 지속적으로 제기해 왔습니다. 우리는 북한에 대한 제재의 확대를 위한 UN 안전보장이사회의 결의안을 2013년에 자랑스러이 공동발의 했습니다.

“제 3회 북한 인권의 날을 맞아, 저는 캐나다의 한인 커뮤니티와 인권단체들과 함께 북한 시민들의 대한 북한의 비양심적인 대우를 강력히 규탄하며 또한 평양이 국제적 의무에 부응하도록 강력히 촉구합니다. 북한 사람들이 존중받고 자유로이 살 수 있을 때까지, 재당선된 보수당 정부는 계속하여 북한의 폭군 정권에 대한 반대 의지를 분명하게 말할 것입니다.”
